I am a data scientist in the Data Team at the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF). I develop data analysis applications using natural language processing and Bayesian statistics to support evidence-based science policy decisions. Previously, I was a postdoctoral researcher in data science at the Chair for Technology and Innovation Strategy (TIS-EPFL). Prior to joining EPFL I was affiliated with the Swiss Institute for Empirical Economic Research (SEW-HSG). I completed my doctoral studies in economics and finance with specialization in econometrics at the University of St.Gallen, Switzerland, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Michael Lechner. My research lies at the intersection of econometrics and machine learning, focusing on both predictive as well as causal machine learning.
